About Us
The "Zombies " were established in
1990. We are a family-based car
club whose love of God, family, friends, country and cars are
evident.
Our goal is to educate the public, in a
bygone era. Back to the days of the Drive-Ins, Sock Hops, Rock
and Roll, Rythm and Blues, Hot rods, Jalopy's, Lead Sleds and
Kustoms, Juke Boxes, Soda Fountains, Car Hops, and Drive- In
Diners. Back to a time in American history when the
songs of Elvis, Dion, Frankie Lymon, Jackie Wilson, the Big
Bopper, Buddy Holly, Richie Valens, The Cadillacs, The
Platters, The Temptations, The Miracles and so many other
greats were burning up the airwaves with so called "Race
Music" or "Devil Music". Back to a time when "Wolfman Jack"
was outlawed from broadcasting in the United States, and had
to broadcast from just across the Mexican border. Back to the
very beginnings of Rock and Roll, back to the time of Alan
Freed. Back to the
time of Pompadours, Poodle Skirts, Pony Tails, Greasers, Hot Rodders, and
Preppies.
Each of our cars is a work of art in its
own form. Much attention is given to the "rods and sleds" of
the era. A testament to the great builder's of the days gone
past. The Barris Bothers, Bill Hines, Larry Watson, Sam
Westergard. With each member using
his vehicle as a unique enterpretation of this love of the
past.
Chopped, Dropped, Tail Draggin, Frenched,
Sectioned,Channeled, Chromed, Hopped up, Souped up,
Tuck-n-Roll, Pleated, Stripped Down, Jacked up, built on a
limited
budget and mainly built from whatever you could get your hands
on.
As "Zombies" this is what runs through
our veins, our brains, our very skeleton. I could go on and
on, but you get the idea. As our car club name "Zombies"
denotes, we are resurrecting the dead, keeping the memories
alive. We do this through our love and creation of our
vehicles. Each being a testament of a once thought to be
dead vehicle, brought back to life. Not only
did we bring them back to life, we gave them new
life.
Our Cars range from the 1920's to late
model vehicles, including motorcycles; Harleys and others.
Each being an artform in iron and chrome. A creation and
statment of the owners desire and dream. We hope to keep
the dreams and memories alive. They live on
in our minds, our cars, our hearts, and our ways of
life.
Come and join us, step back, and be a
part of the "Blast from the Past." We welcome you to
Zombie-Ville.
